SURVEYING SERVICES

We offer a wide range of surveying services, including boundary and control surveys, property surveys, topographic surveys, control for photogrammetric surveys and aerial photography, construction surveys, hydrographic surveys, and construction layout.

Our association and membership with the LSU-Gulfnet system of Continually Operating GPS Reference Stations (CORS) allows us to perform any of the above listed services efficiently, accurately, and in a relatively short time span. Also, in addition to the Gulfnet CORS system, our GPS receivers can not only receive signals from the United States GPS satellites, but also positioning data from the Russian GLONASS (Russian Global Positioning System) satellites, thus providing more satellite availability and broadening our capabilities.

When GPS surveying is not applicable, we also perform conventional surveying and mapping using control leveling and traverse methods that fit the particular project scope.

GPS Receivers – TOPCON Hyper-Lite+ Receivers with GLOSSNAS (Russian Global Positioning System) Capability

These are Real Time Kinematic (RTK), dual-frequency systems with completely cableless base stations and rover receivers capable of on-site adjustments/real time coordinates for elevations and analysis.

Ashtech Locus System

This is a single-frequency GPS system ideal for control densification. The Locus system is capable of kinematic (moving) surveys with the processing done utilizing software back in the office.

Total Stations – TOPCON & Sokkia

Both are equipped with dual-axis compensation for consistency in readings and measurements; each also has an internal memory and collection/stakeout package. These instruments are used in all of our general purpose surveying (topographic, stakeout, construction).

Data Collectors

The TDS Ranger is a rugged top-of-the-line unit used for all of our general surveying. It is equipped with road stakeout packages and has GPS collection abilities available.

The TOPCON FC-100 is used with our Hyper-Lite+ receivers as well as the total stations. It enables us to get real-time coordinates/elevations in the field with GPS and move straight into collection or stakeout with the total station as needed.

The Sokkia SDR33 is used primarily for road/bridge projects with the state DOTD. This unit includes a road package for stakeout/design/collection.

Office/Drafting Software

Office personnel are provided with several packages to meet our customers’ various needs. Our drafting department uses Microstation and AutoCAD products. For computing, we utilize Carlson Survey 2008. We are capable of producing any type of map generation and data analysis.
